Sherwood Forest Holiday Park Facilities & Pitches

Sherwood Forest Holiday Park is a peaceful, picturesque site with an abundance of wildlife and mature trees. We are on the banks of the River Maun and there is also a lake on the site which is home to ducks, swans and all manner of creatures.

Park Facilities & Pitches

We offer five toilet/shower blocks and facilities for the disabled. There are also facilities for motor home and caravan waste disposal and fresh water filling points. We also have numerous Elsan points and a laundry. All pitches on the main site, whether grass or hard standing, have electric hook ups and digital freeview hook up.

Hard standing with electric hook up. Pitches are divided by laurel bushes, backing onto the small River Maun. Very popular area, near the younger children's play area. Please be advised that all pitches back onto running water and consideration should be given to booking these pitches for families with small children.

Mainly grass pitches with electric hook up. 2 hard standing pitches either side of the younger children's play area. 1 non-electric grass pitch. Very popular with younger families.

Small picturesque area of grass pitches with electric hook ups surrounded by the river on three sides. Not used in the winter months. Consideration should be given to booking pitches near water if travelling with small children.

Small area of grass pitches with electric hook ups overlooking the wildlife lake. Close to disabled toilet and shower facilities.

Very popular area of hard standing pitches with electric hook ups overlooking the lake. Pitches are separated by laurel bushes. 1 very large pitch available for big RV's etc.

We also stock a wide range of discounted camping and caravanning goods. Our prices are hard to beat so do come and have a look around.

You can also order a newspaper or hire an iron. You can exchange your empty Calor gas bottles here as well. Our shop is open all year round and is also open to non-residents.

During the warmer months the shop and reception are open from 9am until 5pm, except Friday when we remain open till 8pm. During the winter our opening hours are Monday to Thursday from 9am until 5pm, Friday 9am until 7pm and weekends 9am until 5pm. Outside of these times wardens are always available for late arrivals or to deal with emergencies.

Nearby Area

There are a series of fishing lakes next to the site available for keen anglers. Day pegs are available.

Robin Hood Market and Car Boot Sale is held at the site next door every Sunday.

We are situated just 3 miles from the world famous Major Oak in Sherwood Forest, home to the legend of Robin Hood and his Merry Men.

There are several places to eat nearby, such as the Dog and Duck pub with its unique decor. There is also the Robin Hood pub which is ideal for families and many cafes and restaurants in nearby Edwinstowe.

There is excellent shopping both locally and in Mansfield, which has all the attractions you would expect from a large town. In the surrounding area, there are also many attractions such as theme parks, farm parks and activity centres.

Cyclists and walkers are well catered for with a series of paths and cycle routes as well as parks and forests. Our staff in the shop are happy to provide you with information regarding local attractions and events, as well as cycle and walking routes.
